As of January 23, 2007, the US Department of Homeland Security requires airline travellers returning  to the US to have a valid US passport. As of June 1st, 2009, travellers to the US must present a "secure travel document", such as a current passport, for entry.

Galiano Island is 27.5 kilometers (16.2 miles) long and is situated between Vancouver and Vancouver Island. A special place of great natural beauty and tranquility, Galiano is the perfect getaway with small galleries, resturants, shops, studios, B & Bs, cabins, golf course and a marina.
Travelling from Port Angeles, Washington ?

From Port Angeles, Washington
Depart on the Coho Ferry from Port Angeles – which can be reached from Highway 101 (north east of Seattle. From Victoria, take Highway 17 for 24 miles to the Swartz Bay ferry terminal. Watch for signage to locate Gulf Island ferry.

Travelling from Seattle or Portland ?

From Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon
North on Route 5 from Portland and Seattle to Bellingham. Twenty minutes to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal (after crossing the international border). Depart on the Gulf Islands ferry from Tswwassen to Galiano Island. Crossing time is 50 minutes. Reservations are recommended.
