Tourist Booth - The Galiano Island Chamber of Commerce operates an information booth on Sturdies Bay Road, just up from the ferry. The booth is staffed during peak summer hours; maps and brochures are available year-round. If you have questions about visiting Galiano, you can call or email us anytime.
What to Bring - Just bring yourselves! Almost everything else is available on island. You do not have to bring food or beverages: three well-stocked grocery stores operate year-round, as do a bakery and three liquor/wine/beer outlets. Be sure to bring all-weather clothing, as clothing stores are limited. While there is no pharmacy, the grocery stores do carry general remedies; and there is a hardware store for everything from kitchenware to repair materials.
What to Buy - "Leave Room in Your Suitcase" - Galiano presents a wide range of temptations for you. Boasting the highest percentage of artists per capita, and internationally acclaimed and collected arts & crafts, you can certainly find something on Galiano to bring back memories of your West Coast experience: from sculpture to paintings, hand-crafted soap to handmade preserves.
Accommodations - A variety of accommodation is available ranging from bed & breakfasts, to cottages to resorts. Click here.

Garbage & Recycling Depot - There is no landfill on Galiano. Visitors are encouraged to take off island what they bring. You can lighten the load at The Recycling Depot & Redirectory, located on Sturdies Bay Road across from The Galiano Trading Company (Fridays and Saturdays, 10am to 2pm). For information on accepted items, visit the Galiano Island Recycling Resources Centre.
FIRE Safety - Campfires are often banned on Galiano Island. Our forests are tinder-dry in summer, and the risk of fire is extremely high. Visit the South and North Volunteer Fire Departments at the start of your stay for current fire danger ratings and instructions.
